Voices - Young and Old(er)

District 4 artist, Zell Miller III, celebrated his home district with his piece Youth Voices of the 4, a reading performed at the Gus Garcia Recreation Center on October 24th.  Noted community leaders and artists read poems written by youth from the area. The writing process served as a safe space for the participating children to reflect on their thoughts about their community and their homes. The artists then brought the youth’s poetry to life in funny (and sometimes surprising) ways and lent their own voices to the very real and heart-felt observations about what life is like growing-up in the district.
